History/Background

This model was never sold in Europe only in the US but has a pedigree. Its claim to fame was in the early 1970s when it won the motorcycle section of “The Roof of Africa Rally”. During the rally, the RT was leading the cars and eventually came fourth behind 3 cars in a field of 80 which included 11 motorcycles.

What We Did

This bike was completely stripped down to every nut and bolt. The engine was completely rebuilt with new bearings, seals, re-bored with new piston, rings, little end, new reed valves. All new cables, seat, indicators, clocks rebuilt. The frame was was powder-coated, all the chrome was re-chromed by ourselves and tank plus panels were professionally re-painted. The wheels were rebuilt with new spokes and all new bearings and brake linings. All the wiring was completely replaced and a new stator and many new original parts were replaced during the restoration.
